As dog owners, we have the obligation to keep our dogs safe on public lands- especially during hunting season!
Each year, mistakes are still made.
406 Dogs in Orange gives away hundreds of free orange bandanas to Montanan dog owners.
The giveaway is intended to raise awareness and ensure that every dog in Montana wears orange on public lands. Whether you’re in the mountains hiking and backpacking, fishing the river, or doing some early-season backcountry skiing, make sure your dog is wearing orange! Together we can prevent accidents.
[10/25/24 update!] You can find bandanas at the following Bozeman locations:
Alpenglow Animal Hospital
Black Dog Vet
Bridger Animal Nutrition
Cottonwood Vet
Gallatin Vet Hospital
Contact us if you'd like a box at your location!
If you can't pick up a bandana in person, we are glad to ship or deliver one to you for a flat rate $5 cost. Email below for more info!

This cause is not yet a 501(c)(3), although we are working on it. If you would like to help but can't donate due to our lack of 501(c)(3) status, consider using your advertising budget (we'll include your name on "sponsored by" cards with each bandana, or can discuss screen printing your logo on some of the bandanas)!
This project is currently being run by a local Bozeman-based small business "Montana is Calling"
All profits from Montana is Calling sales are going towards bandanas, combined with the help of some generous individual donations, we've been able to give away hundreds of bandanas. If you'd like to donate, please donate via Venmo (@montanaiscalling) or check our our Etsy store for gifts-- yes, all Etsy profits have been directed towards this project too!
